Marble neck or Codd-neck clear glass bottle.
Very clear with green tint this thick glass bottle has embossed lettering "Taff Vale Bottling Co. Cardiff with a cloverleaf containing "C" "&" "J" with "trade mark" underneath. On the back side is "The Riley Manufacr Co. London, S. W.
Contains the original clear glass marble, has an applied top and an embossed empty cloverleaf symbol on the bottom.
Taff & Vale breweries originated in 1840s.
Codd-neck bottles were first invented in the 1870s by Hiram Codd of Camberwell, south east London and were in use for a limited time only.
They are hard to find due to kids breaking them for the marbles inside.
